IT ALL STARTED WITH AN IDEA.
In the winter of 2006, Scott Strode had an idea. Scott had found strength and support in sport and the fellowship with others in sobriety through these activities, but the question was how to turn that idea and desire to help into an organization? Fast forward to 2014, now Phoenix Multisport is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with chapters in Boulder, Denver and Colorado Springs. The organization colletively runs close to 50 programs per week and employs a full-time staff of 17. Their instructors are highly qualified in their respective disciplines and just as importantly are examples of excelling in a sober lifestyle. Phoenix Multisport is intensely proud of the over 6,000 individuals who have attended programming since 2007 and excited for future expansion plans.
Phoenix Multisport fosters a supportive, physically active community for individuals who are recovering from alcohol and substance abuse and those who choose to live a sober life. Through pursuits such as climbing, hiking, running, strength training, yoga, road/mountain biking, socials and other activities, they seek to help their members develop and maintain the emotional strength they need to stay sober.
